But today it is sunny, and I have no class. So I'm staying in bed all day and being a blanket burrito. It's absolutely perfect save the fact that I had to go for chapel for half an hour in the morning. At least I wore my 'happy pants' (I'm talking about these bright yellow pants I got from jcp that put the sun to shame, and I'm not joking about that last bit). I am in the process of writing my own profile page right now, and watching cartoons. Everything is perfect. Even though I don't have Dinnish with me. I hope everyone reading this can find their own happiness in themselves, without relying on someone else to make them happy today. Have a sweet Valentine's Day everyone!

xoxo, much, much love

Spreading a little love today...

With my ModCloth Grab Bag! :) It's basically a tote with random things inside. This isn't my best organization picture, but here you go:

I actually got it for the "Style Comes From the Heart" tote, but everything else is pretty fine. I'm probably going to give away/sell most of the items though. I have to admit that little earth tote is pretty cute, and it's kind of fitting for me since I love all kinds of eco stuff, but the rings however, are a tad too big, so if anyone has a size7 or 8 for rings, give me a holler and you might get it. ;) Also, I know it's really inconspicuous-looking down at the bottom of the picture, but it's a measuring tape necklace. Here's a bigger picture of it:

Contrary to the picture, the necklace is actually really, really silver. If anyone wants it (LOL) just give me a good reason why you should, and I'll get it to you the best way possible. Also, the cherry ring is definitely up for grabs, so unless somebody wants it, I'm selling it. Make sure you have the right ring size. xD

Okay, that's about all I've got today. Now I have to go camp out at the laundry room. Wishes me luck!

P.S. Happy Birthday to Dinnish Raj! My wonderful boyfriend. :) I hope I get to spend a lot more with you.

Much love, xoxo

Two At A Go

Sometimes I wonder why we let go of old things. Some of us are afraid we're hoarders, some of us are coaxed into believing that we need to let go of the past. But I don't believe that we always let go of old things.

Why is it that vintage is coming back in style? Things that my mother would have played with when she was younger now sell for 20 times the amount of money. We went from digital cameras back to film, hoodies to coats in 18th cent. fashion, stud piercings to gauges, I don't know if we realize it, but we're going from new and modern to old and reused. There must be some kind of equation that this can be translated into, to reveal what the next old thing is going to come back in trends today.

Anyway, I only wanted to blog today because I've been free since 11.30am. And as you can see, I'm a terrible procrastinator because it's already 5pm now. I did get around to doing some errands though, so that's something. My main concern was to do laundry, but somebody's left their clothes in there again. I'm certain it's not always the same people, but here's my advice to those of you who are going to be sharing a community laundry room in the future. I suggest:

Setting a timer. - Good Lord. You do not want your clothes to sit there for 12 hours. Do you really have no concern about your clothes at all? If you don't, that's completely fine, because then it wouldn't bother you when people move your things (and trust me, someone WILL).

Being as time efficient as possible. - Be mindful of the other people who have to share the washing machines and dryers with you. They do not have all the time in the world to do their laundry, let alone waste it waiting on you. If you choose to be a pain in the neck about something as simple as that, then there's no stopping them from being the same way to you.

Being responsible. - Always be prepared to assume that there is some kook in your building/dorm who will steal your clothes at the drop of a hat. This has happened time and time again, yet people still get surprised by it. They also tend to shift the blame to others. Sure, it was wrong of that person to steal, but the thing is, you could have prevented it from happening by just being responsible for your own stuff. It is not that hard, people. If you had been there to collect your clothes when it was done, somebody else would not have had the time to steal your things. Period.

The Golden Rule: Double-check, double-check, double-check. I cannot say this enough. People leave their things in the laundry room, ALL. THE. TIME. Stop it. No one wants to see your pathetic fuzzy left sock, or or your gross overused jockstrap. Make sure (double sure) that you take out whatever you bring in, and everyone will be happy.

Okay now, time to get off the computer. :) I'm planning a semester in DC so I need to be more productive with my life. Heeheehee. I hope my little rules save you guys someday.

Much love! xoxo

barumph bum bum

I know you're there.

Stalkers. :P Just kidding! At least I know somebody's consistently reading my blog, and I just wanted to say thanks! :) I don't track my own pageviews btw, in case you were wondering.

There's really nothing new happening in my life, I'm just getting into the groove of school. Yesterday night, we all dressed up and went for an annual school event where the different clubs perform, and I got to wear my ModCloth skirt!

I must admit I'm pretty happy with it. Ashleigh and Yu Jin said it made me look skinny even though I kept tugging on my tank to keep it straight at first, but it wore just fine in a little while. I'm really lucky most online purchases work well for me. As for the event, if I see some pictures on facebook I might "steal" them and post some up here to give you guys an idea of what goes on at my school. ;) It was so much fun to watch. Plus everyone in my group dressed up so we walked in there like bosses. :D

That's about it for now. I hope you guys have a lovely day and please come back for more soon. :)
Much love, xoxo

My love for onions

I know it's a little crazy of me to say this, but I really like onions. Especially the ones in the U.S. because they're so large and round, and when you peel off the browner layers, the smell is almost intoxicating. Then when you cut into it, it's so fresh that juices the consistency of water leaks from the rinds. I could quite honestly eat a candied onion, even if someone tried to play that trick on me. It would be like a nice surprise honestly. Hahahaha okay enough of being weird.

I wanted to share songs with all of you! Recently I've been loving me some British music (and NO I do not mean Adele, I'm sorry, but I really hate her songs and I don't understand how ppl can say, "Oh she's singing my soul!!!" Hellll, no) but then again I think I might've always liked British music better than American. I just like how their accents really come out when they sing.

The first one is actually a YouTuber, and I'd been a fan ever since I heard her sing Lady Gaga (who I'm not a fan of either), just because she did a really good job of it. A few of my favorite covers that she does are "Promise This", and "Safe and Sound". I don't even know why I like that last one to be honest, because I don't fancy Taylor Swift very much. =/ However, maybe you will understand when you hear Kate McGill sing.

I've conveniently switched "Promise This" with "Fix You" instead because I assume more people are fans of Coldplay than Cheryl Cole. Whatever.

Her "Safe and Sound" is absolute perfection.

The second one is just Ellie Goulding with her version of "Your Song". There's really something about that British accent.

Then I've got Birdy's "Skinny Love". I'm beginning to wish I could listen to mainstream English radio instead now. "Skinny Love" is actually Bon Iver's, but Birdy is famous for it because of her piano version, and of course, I love the piano so I love this song more by her.

I feel like she's really setting an example for people her age by this video because she's so young and yet it's like she lives in the 18th cent. Fine, I admit I have thing for the older era of humanity.

This last song I got from a hair tutorial by The Beauty Department (if you checked it out yet, you really should), and it's called "Candles" by Daughter. I really love music like this, especially when the singer sounds drunk. Hahaha. Sometimes it's when you're slightly or extremely drunk when you make the best music. If you don't believe me, just listen to jazz.

The intro to this is just so soothing, I absolutely adore it. And I hope you guys do too. :) That's enough for now.

Much love, xoxo

I'm pretty embarrassed about this

I spent about half of the afternoon looking at wedding cakes and dresses. More cakes than dresses. In case you didn't know, I plan to have a beach wedding. Possibly one on an island but if I want a good cake, I'd have to to give up the island venue, unless it's freaking Hawaii and I won't have to carry a cake onto a boat. Let's be honest, unless I become a world-renowned author in the next 6 years, I'll never get half my family there. So here's to *crossing my fingers* writing a series like J.K. Rowling so I can have the perfect wedding.

Here are a couple of my finds, so maybe some of you can keep these for ideas as well. Lol. Plain and simple.

I know it can be hard to please her sometimes, but it’s worth it in the end. Remember that she’s your happiness, your world. She should be the first person you talk to in the morning, and the last person you whisper “Good night” to. Unlike some of your bros, she’s going to be there for you when you’re the happiest, but more importantly, when you’re at your lowest. She’ll cook for you and care for you, so treat her like a queen. Girls are delicate creatures. Think before you say. Think before you act. They take every little mistake you make and multiply it by a thousand. So try not to mess up, aight? When you’re fighting, sometimes it’s better to put your relationship before your own pride. You’re not helping yourself by making her upset, bro. And never, ever, under any condition, let her go to sleep crying. She’ll resent you for it for the rest of your days. Don’t forget to make her feel special everyday. Open doors, go shopping with her. Hell, make dinner for her! The more you show her you love her, the more she’ll give you in return. Remember that an “I love you” via text is never as special as one in person. And show her off to your bros, don’t be ashamed of her. She’s never been ashamed of your dorky ass. Look, she doesn’t really need much in a relationship; she just wants to feel like she matters to you. That’s not asking for much, bro.

But if you haven’t learned a thing from reading this, remember this. Love her unconditionally, loyally, and keep her close. Love her with everything you’ve got: emotionally, mentally, and physically. Because I swear, if you won’t treat your girl right, someone else definitely will."

I don't know who wrote this, but I think this person's got it right.

I am out of water

Anybody out there with water, please send help. I was online looking at ALDO shoes (because they were having a clearance sale), and also talking to my bee, then I had the genius idea of showing him some of the guys' shoes. It turns out however, that he showed his brother the shoes, and then they ended up getting three. LOL. I love how they're practically metrosexual. :P I'm not kidding, they're really good shopping buddies. And if you're a single girl reading this, my boyfriend's brother is avaiiiilableeee. :D

This one is my boyfriend's. It's called IANIELLO, in case you were wondering. I kinda like how ALDO names their shoes. It's like they're all unique, individual styles. I hope he really likes it when he actually tries it on. Hahaha that's such a strange thing to have to say.

This is one of Previn's, I know you were wondering. ROSEMBERT sounds Jewish. :B

Anyway, I was just bored so I edited pictures of some of my favorite boys' shoes. :) Also I've never really mentioned my boyfriend and his brother in the same post. I can't wait to go back and see themmm. *bounces*

okay xoxo much love!

The Beauty Department: Your Daily Dose of Pretty. - SHOP TIL YOU DROP 2011

The Beauty Department: Your Daily Dose of Pretty. - SHOP TIL YOU DROP 2011

I'm keeping this just for reference. ;) Oh and also, if you girls haven't checked out The Beauty Department yet, you definitely should! This is probably gonna be a rant of sorts so you are hereby forewarned.

I'm not really certain if I like who I am. I watch movies alone that make me think about what I'm doing with my life while technically, at the moment, I'm not allowed such liberties of choice. People may think I am, but I'm not. I don't know if I'm limiting myself, or just being patient. I don't know if I'm truly happy, or waiting for happiness. What is this place I'm in and who have I become? I am not me.

Maybe there is this deep, dark chamber inside all of us that we retreat to when we're alone. Everything may be right in our lives and we're still not happy. What is this hole? What is this unending chasm lacking? I wonder, if maybe we are merely given choices to be happy, and not given happiness instead. Do we really decide that? Do we really.

Be here and wake up, feel what I feel. All of you out there with empty holes. It's not gonna fill up with beer, drugs, or sex.

Poetry class is strange

My professor had us all think of two questions to ask the whole class, and of course, he asked for mine first (just to embarrass me). But here are a few that I would suppose aren't the normal kinds of questions you'd ask.

Favorite childhood toy: I thought about it long and hard, and though I still love Barbies for being the epitome of female perfection, my favorite toy at my earliest age was actually a Korean Airline pillow that my parents gave me while I was still a baby. It's unique to me because my dad used to work for Korean Airlines and my mom worked at the airport. I'm pretty certain they changed jobs different times, but a lot of it happened at the airport. I am an airline baby. ^^ I also used my imagination to turn that pillow into my own baby. I loved it coz it was stuffed with feathers. :B

Something unique: I decided to go with the fact that I have an INFP personality. I know it makes me sound like a complete nerd, but it actually explains a lot about my behaviour and mentality, if you read up on it. Turns out I'm not just weird, I also have a personality type that is only common to 1-5% of the population. I am "a swan reared in a family of ducks". ==

Travel abroad? Now this was funny, considering I am already from "abroad". My professor even went as far as to say "abroading". xD He's so funny, he makes me laugh. This question was also interesting because a majority of the American population never travels out of the US. I mean, you can't really blame 'em, it is incredibly large and they have everything they ever want here. But I guess they also lack the "worldliness" one might see in a person who has traveled more. It's a sad stereotype that plenty of other nations place on Americans as being naive in that sense and usually overweight. It's not completely true.

I have to admit, I love travelling but these days I feel as though I'm running out on my "one in a million" flights. My worst-case-scenario mind is sensing that with all this time I spend in the air, there's a chance something terrible might happen. And all I want to do is go home. :( I guess most people won't understand, maybe some might. I love my home and I miss it. There isn't anything that could replace it, I'm certain. Even if I were to migrate elsewhere in the future, I'll always want to go back to Malaysia, and safely too, hopefully.

Anyway, I'm really psyched about the new semester, I hope I do better than my last. =/ And I'm also happy that it's drawing closer to summer! Can't wait to see everyone back home again. And the warm weather. And the incomparable food. I believe I might have eaten 10 Ramly burgers the last time I was home. :B Maybe I can top that this time though I'm sure that's not a very healthy goal. xD

Much love! xoxo

Let's Hear It

Okay! Here are a few pics just to give you guys a taste of what's in store, jic you've been wondering. I've also decided to just upload the pictures into an album (here), instead of posting a whole bunch in one post so that you guys can look thru our adventures and laugh at how weird our group is. :D

This is the apt we lived at: typical NY architecture and design, with exceedingly old elevator and all. We were so lucky to have Amely find us this place to crash at for 3 weeks. Hopefully we didn't distress the other housemates too much while we were there. :P

Here's our street! This was taken the day Stephanie went to the park across our apt to take pretty pictures. :) Of course, I edited this one to make it look old, but I think it's so appropriate to the architecture. NY seriously has the prettiest architecture I've seen. But of course, I haven't been to too many places in the US yet.

I told them that there was such a thing as upside-down smiles. This is my proof. Heehee. We were also really happy with our dinner at Five Guys. Cajun fries for the win.

This shot was taken by Steph/Shawn from across the street. I told you the architecture is beautiful. The inside was amazingg. It was my second time there but it's nice to come back to the same places you've been sometimes. The pictures don't do the interior too much justice tho, it was pretty bad lighting. Is there something with NY being unusually dark at night?

This was in front of the East Asian exhibit in the Museum of Natural History. We all have a shot in front of this I think. I should totally make a collage. ^^

The number 1 that we took practically everyday. We have a ongoing "on and off" relationship now.

The funniest thing about this was that I just watched the episode on TV showing the guy who made this purely lego version of the New York Library lions. Look Ashleigh! :D

(okay I know I'm going crazy with the editing, but seriously guys, it's too. Much. Fun.)

I think it's absolutely darling the way the city decorated bare trees with humongous baubles. Aren't they eccentric?

This scale measures your weight on the moon. When I found this I immediately announced to the group: "I found a magical make-you-feel-instantly-better machine!"

The boys in front of the Chrysler Building. It looks so gorgeous lighted up at night. It was a shame we didn't manage to go at the appropriate time, the fee was hiked up so we ditched the idea and stole pictures of it instead. Value: absolutely priceless.

Me and Denzil being unreasonably excited about going to the museum. Oh, joy. This stop was especially pretty though, with the underwater mosaics on the walls.

Shops at the rink are so cool. Every stall has something different and quirky to offer, I only wish I had more time and money. Lol. That's Jonathan in the middle btw (photobomb :B).

One of the very many silly pictures that we have. I think the combination of us and New York makes us go a little insane. Note the man in the middle not realizing what is going on right in front of him.

And finally, a pic of us waiting at the station - as our story continues. I am too tired at the moment and have more pressing matters to attend to, like folding laundry, for instance. Hope you guys like what I have so far. I'll try to post up a full album of unedited pix asap once I make sure the group's okay with losing our pride and dignity in them. The reason is because everyday my friends and I have been going out dawn to dusk, and I'm not even talking parties or clubs. We've seen so many tourist-y things in the single week we've been here, it's kind of hard to keep track of it all. But I guess that's what New York's supposed to be like?

At any rate, no pictures for now, because I have three cameras' worth to go through and of course, I only want to put up the best for you to see. It's hard work. I might however, post up New Year's Eve pictures before the actual beginning of the trip, so you can hopefully see the ball drop in Times Sq. ;) Happy Holidays everybody.

Much love, xoxo

I know I haven't been blogging too much recently, so here is a cat. Well yeah, because I technically don't have any finals. They were mostly papers. So thankful that this semester's finals aren't terrible.

Anyhoo, because of all that extra time, I've been going a lil' psycho with my vintage picture maker. Pictures of me doing totally random things, for example, standing and eating ice cream, mid-conversation, or completely distracted with something else. Gonna be terrible having to fly by myself but *crosses finger* hopefully I won't meet any travel complications. Just in case you guys reading this don't know, I'm flying to NY for X'mas! :) Of course I'm expecting it to be fun and totally sick, especially coz I have all my friends there, plus we're definitely gonna be taking a ton of pictures. Let me just point out "never" being the operative term, because in fact, there are some that do work. You just barely hear about them, and I will tell you why.

It is because of the negativity that comes with the overview of relationships. These days, people break up all the time. 3 months for them is a milestone, sometimes even 3 weeks. Then once they get into an argument, a breakup is impending. I hate how it seems like people are just getting together for the sake of it, instead of putting their hearts and souls into staying with a person they like, not just anybody who "will do".

I have kept a LDR for two years and a little over five months now, and I have to admit, most of the people who call me "friend", don't even know it. The reason why I usually don't let on about it until I know a person better is not because I don't love my boyfriend, or that I'm ashamed. It's because it's something that means a lot to me. Something I put a lot of time and effort into keeping because it's close to my heart and I believe that it's gonna be worth it. The reason I don't talk about it is because the usual feedback is just so negative, and I don't need that kind of bad influence bringing me down when I'm already tackling something this hard. A lot of people think that it's stupid, or a waste of time and opportunity. But you know what, I think it's okay for love to be stupid, because if it were smart, it wouldn't be unconditional. Maybe people should learn how to love more that way. My boyfriend and I understand that the risks we're taking are superfluous and almost unnecessary. But y'know what, we're taking it anyway. At least we're not afraid of a commitment that's "a thousand times harder" when people who live in the same neighborhood can't even keep it together.

I read a real-life story once about a Japanese woman who met her husband on a bus trip in Canada. She didn't see him again until five years later, but when they finally got married then, it meant so much more just to be physically together. I know that sounds crazy, and maybe I am crazy. But that's what I want now. I know that when people find out about my boyfriend, all I get in return is judgment. Their eyes get wide when I tell them it's been two years away from him, but to me, two years feels like the blink of an eye. You parents know how this feels. But then again maybe the people I tell are just shocked because they didn't know any sooner. It's like telling your high school classmate you now have four kids and you live in Hawaii.

But now you know. I'm glad my boyfriend seems a bit more open about it, and I'm even happier that there are people supporting him back home. :) I really appreciate that. I have to say that I do have some people here who think what I have is cute, because they're girls (of course). They say it must be something real because it's been that long, but I know time doesn't really factor into it, especially after reading what the article says. Btw, is it weird for me to think that the pic at the top is actually funny? Truth be told, I feel more hurt than insulted when people give me negative feedback, because you know what, a lot of these people don't even know what an LDR feels like, let alone gone into one themselves. Plus, even if they did and theirs didn't work out, who's to say for a fact that mine won't? It's like a mission you're on, or a lifestyle you choose. Counting down days to when you next see each other? Planning future dates a year ahead? Dealing with time zones by staying up late or waking up early? It's hard work but we do it anyway because we choose to believe that our relationship's worth it.

I'd have to tell you though, LDRs are definitely not for everyone. I can deal with it because I function on a different wavelength and I'm weird and antisocial. But then again so does Dinnish and he's the opposite of me in that aspect so maybe you could ask him about it from his side. It's hard sometimes, but the benefits are that you get to do your own thing without constantly having to bring your bf/gf, because distance is an excuse (whereas when you're in close proximity with each other, you feel bad for excluding them in stuff you wanna do with your bunch of friends. You know which friends I'm talking about). And you also tend to appreciate your other faraway half more than you would if he/she were constantly beside you. I mean, c'mon, we all get bored with them at some point when we always have them there. But with my case, going to the movies, having dinner, or even taking a drive is a luxury, so there is definitely more appreciation there to time spent just doing normal things. I also find it easier for me, being in an LDR, to not get physical so fast. I know this sounds tres scandalous, but I'm not just talking about me. It's general logic: if you're far away from each other, you can't get into physical stuff. Hahaha. I think that's a good thing because in that sense, couples are almost forced to leave a lot more to explore for later (no matter how good they think their self-control might be), which is basically an ideal for me, if you know what I mean. :)

Essentially, the person you get into long-distance with is the most important. I'm not some relationship guru (at all), but I think any couple crazy enough to keep dating after being physically separated is worth a shot, because chances are, they're probably really in love.

P.S. Just in case you were wondering, that's two years and five months, over 9635 miles.Take that, M. Rose.

because you need to tell a good story

Whenever I write a post, I always try to be the most honest as I can be. Redundant sounding, but yeah. My personality just has to reflect it because I feel as though too many people lie, and cheat, and break promises made that they never intended to keep.

I had a bunch of things I wanted to blog about, and I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this. Last night I went to this Poverty Initiative session, where this group from <a href="http://comeletsdance.org/"target="_blank">Come, Let's Dance in Uganda had come for 3 days, and I didn't know how great their cause was until last night.

They're basically this NGO placed by God in Africa to help the people in the slums. They give them somewhere to go; a place for hope. And their story was so heartbreaking, and inspiring, that I found myself wanting to sign up and actually go to Uganda. Of course, my mind went before my heart and said, I can't do that right now, I have a year left of college to finish - plus what about all my plans about the future? I see how selfish that may seem now, considering that some of these people, don't even have the opportunity to think like I do, with such freedom. Also, after watching the movie that Shane Gilbert directed and made, I feel, even more so now, that any materialism in my life = my argument is invalid. The kids that they help out need so much more basic things compared to the luxury I enjoy in life, I feel like I am undeserving.

I've told my dad that I want to go on a missions trip (if possible) during the winter break, but considering that I've never been on one, I know how naive it sounds. But I'm sure everyone's done it for the first time once. Plus I also believe that people should do anything in this lifetime once, because life is so short. I honestly hope I get to get out and do something soon, so I can quit focusing on myself and start doing things for others instead. Even more so for those who need it.

Do you ever realize how some of your best revelations come to you while you're in the shower? Well that's just happened to me.

I have a huge confession to make, personally about my life. I feel like Jacob, when he struggled so long with God. And after that struggle I realize, I'm half the person I used to be. I don't know if anyone else sees it, but I know I do. I know what I've become. I lie to myself everyday trying to care about things that I really don't care about - like my looks, or fashion; material things, things of this world. I've forgotten after so long that none of it makes me happy. None of it can make me happy. I've forgotten lessons God has personally taught me because I've spent such a long time trying to fight Him. I can say I was a more mature Christian at age 16 than I am now, at 21.

Now that I'm done fighting though, I would like to say, that if I have to walk with a limp for the rest of my life - just so I can be closer to God, I will. Because nothing else can compare, nothing else even comes close, and I am so sorry to ever think anything otherwise. I was wrong, and I lied to myself. But as I see it I don't want to hit rock bottom, again, just so I can come running back to Him.

It was foolish of me. And I know I probably can't change myself in one night but I am definitely gonna try, because I've realized that one day away from God can turn into years of confusion and misery. It is not worth it, straying, when staying with Him could have been so much better. If anyone out there understands what I'm saying, trust me when I say, do not take God for granted, because it will be a long time before you realize that you can only go so far relying on your own strength, and that there will be a barrier you built yourself when you finally decide to turn back.

Trust in the Lord, always.

my addiction

For the first time! My title is actually about my post - literally. With no thinking involved.

So, if you haven't realized yet, one of my addictions is buying nail polish. =D Ever since I was really young, I've always liked painting my nails. I hated how both my schools didn't let me have painted nails, so as you can tell, when I hit college - BOOM. I painted my nails like, every week. They'd be a different color. Sometimes I'd even paint all ten fingenails different colors. I remember showing my dad once and saying, "Do you think my nails look nice? :D" And he does a double take before saying, "Sure, but why are they all different colors?" "Because I couldn't decide."

One of my all-time favorite brands would have to be O.P.I. I'm not gonna say how much they are here, but let me just say it's at price where I can (currently) own 6, with a few more back home coz I gave em to my mom. xD But my little green basket probably holds 35 legit nail polish bottles right now. I didn't really mean for this to be a long post so, here's what I really wanted to show you guys.

Nars Orgasm. There's carnival food like cotton candy, hot dogs, corn dogs, and candy apples, so I get to eat a lot of free food. ^^ There's also these stands where you can write things, such as limericks (where I have worked twice now), captions, six-word stories, or you could just do sidewalk chalk art. Now, because I have volunteered for the carnival twice already, I have two shirts. ^^ One for each year. Thing is, I have had enough of normal T-shirts. I probably own 20-30 of my own. :( But I really liked the carnival design on these, so I couldn't just give them away. Plus, I earned them. So instead of throwing them away, I cut them up. :D

Into crop tops! These are from the 1st Writing Carnival. :) Sorry the words are flipped, I was taking pix with my webcam coz I don't have my actual cam charger yet. Sigh.

And here are some of the second (and most recent) Writing Carnival. It was Lord of the Rings themed! ^^

Oka,y that's really more than enough camwhoring for today. So, I've decided to blog. :D
My topic shall be about facebook and finding oneself. I am sorry to say, dear children, that at the age of 21, I have come to realize that I still don't know who I am. I have no clue. And it's not that I haven't done any soul-searching. It's just that after having done that, I realize I have so much more of myself to look into. I know this sounds very narcissistic, but what I'm getting to is that it's hard to find out who you are, much less accept that person.
Facebook is a polar attraction. People either hate it or love it. There is no in-between. I find myself conflicted, at least once a week. I either want to quit facebook completely, or sit in front of the screen for the rest of my life. Of course, neither would work out. I automatically suppose that one day, when I'm in my thirties, and I have a family and a career, one of two things is expected: 1. I will stop using facebook completely because I have more things in reality to attend to e.g. my husband, kids, work, housechores, etc. 2. Something better than facebook will be invented and I will spend most of my time on that and neglect my family and job.
Ideally, I shall like number one to take place. If number two happens to be the reigning champion however, I would have failed at life.
Now, I have to connect the two. One of the reasons (and I'm going to be very honest here) that I sometimes feel as though I should quit facebook is because of the stalking opportunity it gives, leading to a lot of envy. Having a rather mediocre sense of self-esteem, I find quite often that I fall short of the social network's image of what is good-looking. I know my boyfriend's gonna kill me for saying this. Figuratively.
To put it into more simple words, haven't you girls ever felt - inadequate. Like when you look at the profile pictures of a really pretty girl (or of a girl who takes really great pictures of herself), that your self-esteem just lowers a tiny notch? I mean, what does it do to you? To me, it almost seems as though I'm just causing myself to hate me. And that's not exactly the greatest thing in the world, is it? I think facebook generates a lot of blows to one's self esteem, when really, we all know that we should love ourselves for who we are, embracing every flaw and feature, and not caring about comparison or appearance. It's just too bad that facebook tends to display a very outward image of people instead of what's inside. Imagine if facebook were to do that instead. Somebody's profile might look like this:

Info
Age 23, m, struggling to get a job, has no sense of commitment in relationships, is afraid of spiders and heights, pulls a Chinese accent when trying to be funny.
Also: loves horses, will not date chicks below a 5, puts younger brother above everything else, has great stage presence.

But of course, how would facebook have that kind of information unless we put it up ourselves? And I'm not saying we should, nor am I saying we shouldn't either. I've read quite a few info pages on profiles that have some really honest content about that person that they have written themselves. But for the most of us, we just tend to portray a character that we'd like people to think we are. What is that, the pressure to fit in? The pressure to stand out? Whatever we make it out to be, it's not good. Well, maybe except for learning about social norms, but that in itself is a total other argument.
In conclusion, what I'm trying to say is just that I want to be able to find peace with myself, and I'm having trouble with that. I don't know if you lot on facebook are too. It just feels rather lonely, doesn't it?

Not Taiwanese

My sister and I have agreed that there are many girls out there who use makeup wrongly. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think that makeup should be worn everyday, or even on a regular basis, but I do think that it should be every girl's prerogative to know how to do it right, WHEN they wear it.

Now I'm no genius at makeup (my sister is, though), but I do know the basics of putting it on. And, I also understand how girls who don't usually use makeup might feel about this issue. So I think I'm pretty qualified in that area. Here's a little step-by-step procedure of how to put on your basic makeup. :) I hope it helps anyone who might want to know but doesn't know how to ask.

FOUNDATION: This is the first thing you'll want to apply all over your face (after a moisturizer or some baby oil perhaps). They sell this in general stores, pharmacies, or you know, over-the-counter department stores. It's usually in about a 35ml bottle or so, and they range from having sunscreen capabilities to those for sensitive skin - so you can have your pick. :) Apply this with a foundation brush all over your face. Don't forget to cover above your eyelids, the creases under your nose (you might want to purse your lips for this), and your neck. Sometimes, my sister even puts this over her lips, just so that when she applies lipstick, the color wouldn't be affected by her natural lip color. Tip: If this is your first time getting a makeup foundation, pick three that are closest to your skin color, and swipe them across your cheek. Buy the one that blends with with your skin tone perfectly.

CONCEALER: Once you're done with foundation, what you'll want to do is conceal. A concealer can work magic. Concealers come in many different forms, such as those similar to a lip gloss stick tube with an applicator, a "lipstick" form that you just twist to use, or a powder form. I personally use the one with an applicator, just because I find it to be the easiest. Cover up any dark spots on your face, and if you're using the same form that I do, dab the concealed spot with a finger until it is (basically) invisible. Don't forget to conceal your eyebags. :) Tip: Be sure not to use a concealer that is darker or lighter than your foundation. You want to hide your imperfections, not highlight them.

FACE POWDER: After concealing, apply face powder all over. Once again, don't forget the creases under your nose, and your neck. There are many different kinds of face powder, from the compact pressed powder to the loose kind. I prefer loose, and applying with a kabuki brush. ^^ There's really nothing wrong with using either one, but I like to think the compact one is more for touch-ups when you're out and about. Tip: Use the pufferfish face for total coverage when applying face powder if you're worried about missing creases.

Great! Now your face is fully prepped and we can work top to bottom from now on. :D

EYEBROWS: It is a very arduous job, grooming your eyebrows. Many people are afraid they'll mess up or pluck too much. But there are ways to cover/avoid mistakes. If you've messed up and your eyebrows look uneven, just draw them in a little until they grow back. If you're afraid of plucking too much, here's a guaranteed way of preventing that: Tweeze only 1-3 hairs at a time, and after doing so, stand back from the mirror about 2-3 feet to regard your eyebrows. This method has saved me so many times. Also, there are different shapes and sizes to all eyebrows. You can either pluck yours to a certain way, or just follow the natural contours of your eyebrows. What I suggest first is to have a professional do it for you, so that you'll know what they could/should look like. You can either have them waxed, tweezed, or threaded. Note of warning: most methods will be painful, but imo doing it yourself hurts less. Just be careful. ;) Once you've had your eyebrows done, draw them in with small, thin upward strokes. Create a tail that stops just above the end of your eye. Tip: Pick an eyebrow liner that matches your eyebrows to the color of your skin. For example, if you are fair to medium-skinned, pick a brown to dark brown pencil. If you're dark medium to dark-skinned, pick a dark brown to black eyebrow pencil. :)

EYELINER: Eyeliner as well, comes in many different forms. If you're a beginner, I suggest using an eyeliner pencil. As you "level up", you can move on to a liquid eyeliner. This is the first step to making up your eyes, IF you don't intend on using eyeshadow. In that case, eye primer would be the first step. Now when you draw on your eyeliner, always make it as close as possible to your eyelash line. You can make it as thick or thin as you like, according to the shape of your eyes. For the bottom, draw on your waterline. Your waterline is the thin layer of smooth flesh that touches your eyeball. Usually I only do this halfway, to the middle of my eye. Tip: Some people have said that drawing eyeliner on both the top and bottom of your eyes makes them look smaller, but I beg to differ. It really depends on your personal preference, or the shape of your eyes. Personally, when I do it, it just gives my eyes a more smoky effect, and I really like the way it looks - whether it makes my eyes look "smaller" or not.

EYE PRIMER: If you plan on using eyeshadow, this is the FIRST thing you'll want apply onto your eyelids. You should only line your eyes after, to minimize the chances of smudging your eyeliner. Eye primers come in many different forms as well, such as the "lipstick" form, the "lip gloss" form, and the pressed cream form (I apologize for my strange use of examples). Applying eye primer will help to keep your eyeshadow from smudging when you apply it later on, and it'll also prevent your eyeshadow from building up in the creases of your eyelids throughout the day. Tip: After applying eye primer, apply eyeshadow second, and end with the eyeliner.

EYESHADOW: There are tons of different things you can do with eyeshadow, but since I'm just dealing with the basic stuff, here's how you do a two-tone eyeshadow look. Most eyeshadow sets come in colours that compliment one another. Pick two: one lighter, and one darker. Apply the lighter one first, brushing from the part closer to your nose, out. Feel the hollows of your eyes as you apply it, and follow its contours (this is easier to do if whichever eye you're working on is half-closed). Try not to apply the eyeshadow past the hollows of your eyes. Once you're done, apply the darker eyeshadow from the part closer to your ears, in. This could be a little tricky, but attempt to curve the darker eyeshadow like a sideways "V" around the lighter part. That means when you look into the mirror, the darker parts should fit into a shape like this: " < >" on your eyelids. Make sure that the centre of your eyelids have the lighter eyeshadow applied on it; this gives the illusion of your eyes being bigger, somehow. Finally, use a blending eye brush to blend your eyeshadow. Your aim should be that one cannot tell explicitly where the colors end or begin.

EYELASHES: The first thing you'll want to do is curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler (duh). If your eyelashes are short, and you want to know know how to wear fake eyelashes, then Ashleigh is your eyelash guru. However, there are ways to extend your eyelashes without having to use fake ones. There's lash fibers you could use, or special mascaras that lengthen your eyelashes with an extra special coat (lol I like how I used special twice). But all these "special" stuff does cost quite a bit, so if you're born with long eyelashes, thank God. If you have like, severely short eyelashes though, fake eyelashes are definitely cheaper in this case, because they cost very little (along with a tube of eyelash glue), and you're set. But if you're happy with your eyelashes at whatever length they are, go ahead and use your favorite mascara after you've curled your eyelashes. My current fave is the Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara, because it coats every lash individually, so you can have a very neat, fanned-out look. But, I also occasionally use Voluptuous Lashes Mascara by pixi, which is this company that uses very natural ingredients (yes, I'm all about that eco stuff), and it's this really nice and thick mascara that truly makes your peepers pop and say "hello".

CHEEKS: There are so many different kinds of blushers, and so many different colors, it's kind of difficult to tackle this area. But since I'm dealing with basic makeup, I won't go into all the neon pinks and how or when to use them. I do suggest a M.A.C. compact blusher in a color that suits your skin well. For example, if you have darker skin, go with something that has a little shimmer in it. Your best colors would be peachy to bronze blushers. But if you have fair skin, the span of colors from pink to a sunburnt red would do wonders for you. There are 2 ways to apply your blusher: 1. Using a blusher brush, suck in your cheeks and apply the blusher along your cheekbones. This will create an illusion of having higher and more defined cheekbones. (If you don't know what your cheekbones are, they're the diagonal lines that appear on your cheeks when you suck them in.) 2. Using your blusher brush, merely apply the blusher to the apples of your cheeks (no sucking in required). This look is usually used more often on younger models - as in tweens and below. There is no need to define their cheekbones, as doing so would give them an overdefined, gaunt look, and we want "young" and "healthy" instead.

LIPS: To be honest, I think I've almost completely grown out of the lip gloss phase. I hate how my long hair always gets stuck to it when the wind blows or even if I just run my fingers through my hair, so I've pretty much given up on it. I use lipstick now, in very natural colours. What you need to do is first apply a clear lip balm onto your lips. I suggest Palmer's Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick, because it'll remove any chapped feeling or dry spots and leave your lips smooth and moisturized. Next, just apply lipstick. My fave lipstick to use is Maybelline's Color Sensational Lipcolor, because it's smooth and stays on long enough, but still comes off easily. (My makeup regime results a very natural look, so if you're looking to wear hot red lipstick, this is not where to look for a how-to) Tip: Pucker your lips slightly when applying lipstick. Stretching out your lips by smiling while you apply lipstick will not sit well with the creases in your lips.

FINISHING: Use a white eyeshadow (with a hint of shimmer) to highlight your T-zone. That's the bridge of your nose, and above your eyebrows. Also, highlight your browbone (that's the area you didn't apply eyeshadow to, the curve just beneath your eyebrows). Lastly, apply a light bronzer to your jawline, and the outlines of your face.

Voila! You are done! :) Last but not least, keep in mind that this is how I do my makeup. It may not work for some of you, but I'd love any feedback. If anybody has questions or further remarks, you know what to do.
Ask my sister. :)

21 years of me!

So most of you should know, I turned 21 on June 11th. :D Yes I am old and proud of it! With age should come wisdom and I am only glad to have such an advantage.
I had one party with my family mostly from my mom's side, plus a few family friends (because some of my actual family members couldn't make it), and it was AMAZING. Okay well, it was mostly embarrassing but I loved the foooood. That was my favorite part. ^^ The fish was like, to die for, and I'm not even exaggerating. If I had the choice to eat something for one last time before I died, it would be that grilled fish in foil. I am not joking.
My second favorite part was the fact that I had most of the people I loved there. =) And I got alock a hugz. ^^ I mean, I nearly forgot that it being my birthday, I should get presents. I honestly did not expect anyone to give me anything, especially in such abundance. o.0 I mean like, thank you everyone for being so generous but you did NOT have to spoil me like that. I would've appreciated your presence even without presents (hehehe like what I did there? xD).
Then I had a second party. Okay for some reason, people seem to have this very um, contradicting I should say, "idea" of me - who I am basically. I say, most of the people who knew I was turning 21 went something like, "So, you gonna go party huh?" with some eye-lifting gestures in the effect of me drinking and clubbing with a bunch of my guy and girlfriends. Let me tell you, and explain in detail, just exactly what I did for my second party.

I had a sleepover. With about 9 of my best girlfriends, at one of their houses.
We ate pizza. Swam in a pool. Baked brownies. Wore facial masks. Watched a movie. And fell asleep.
I say it was one of the best parties I have ever had. :) And I mean, I would think that people should be expectant of 21-year-old to let loose of all boundaries and forget themselves for a night but, don't we have enough of those already? I mean, there are people younger than me acting that way all the time. =/ No offense really, but it is true. I'd rather be somebody with more control at this age, if not anything else.

I'm sorry for the lot of you who thought I was gonna do something big. I'm not - and you heard it here straight from the horse's mouth (how d'you like that Chinese zodiac coincidence? ;)). I really, truly appreciate all the wishes and gifts though, thank you all so much. Maybe next year I'll have enough time to plan something. :D

third week blind

I think it's the third week since I've been back home.

Today I did my passport :D and Les and Ashleigh said I looked like Minnie Mouse. Coz I wore this red top with white polka dots and a really really short skirt with tiered ruffles. I wasn't supposed to wear this outfit today. I wanted to keep it for a day at the mall coz it'd be more "seronok"-looking standing up than sitting down (actually, I'm not sure about that either). But when my mom said to wear something bright, it was all I had. I love that skirt though; it makes my legs look long, coz it's high-waisted. And my legs are actually fat and stubby. == I really am quite short.

5' 3" and 3/4 :P which is really the average American woman's height and at this point, anyone would tell me I should be happy. At least I'm only 120lbs. =/ The average American woman weighs 69kg.

I guess I should say a few things about the differences between my life in the U.S. and as it is here now. There were a couple of really frustrating things, like how people were just rude almost everywhere I went. I keep having to convert the ringgit back to dollars because I wouldn't know how much I would be willing to pay for a certain item if I didn't. I also realize I smile more and ask how people are doing more often. Plus, I spend less time on the computer for some reason. I guess half of that goes to being able to actually spend time physically with my boyfriend and the fact that I don't really have time to waste here. In the U.S. whenever I was playing mini online games for example, it would be to pass time - while waiting for things to happen. Here, it happens without me having to wait.

One of the funniest/scariest differences is the way people drive. I forgot how close the cars come next to each other. And all the motorbikes? The other night some dark-skinned guy was riding a bicycle right behind our car - with no lights, wearing a black shirt. He was lucky we saw him.

And one last thing: I promised myself I wouldn't complain about the heat, but today (after being in my grandmother's house) I give in. It is like freaking HOT here. But, I'm glad I'm home in Malaysia. After hearing my sister and me talk about wanting to come back after finishing our courses in the U.S., people have said that we really are "true Malaysians". And I'm happy about that.

lol tangachi

Okay, I've been working on a really great post about basic makeup that just isn't finished yet, but until it is, here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Um. I figure no one's really reading this anyway, but if you don't already know, I LOVE sarees. Just a tiny letter grade that as of now, has no meaning to me. I mean, I used to care about getting A's, but then I think that's just coz i'm a perfectionist, and now that I don't even want them, I see no reason for me to keep going.

What are my grades for? What am I really doing this for? A job? A better job? For my future kids? A house? Material items? Knowledge? That last one is absurd, I can get that from doing anything anywhere. I would really love to do an elimination process for every one of these things but I'm short of time.

If I could choose how to learn, I'd just sit everyday in the library. And live what I learn, not just pile it on in my head because it feels like it's going nowhere and amounting to nothing. I'm sorry, it just feels like the same old shit again and again. No school is really any different. They don't really teach you anything but to be more organized with your time, doing things that if you think about it, aren't worth your time.

Why aren't we the ones who are building multi-billion dollar social networking sites? Why aren't we the youngest people to climb Mt. Everest? Or the ones to invent a safe cure for cancer? Why aren't we the people who are living their lives with a greater purpose in them? Why?

Because we're stuck in school. And we are led to believe that we need this stuff to do those things, when really, I don't think we do. We are led to believe that those things, can be achieved later in life, when really, in a long run, all we do is just settle into a comfortable job and home, and do the same thing over and over again until we die. We are taught to be underachievers. We are taught that "we can do anything", but are really (through reverse-psychology) being brainwashed that we don't have to.

I don't want to be somebody who just rants about these sort of things. I can't be the only person out there who feels this way about schools.

just in case

Officially 15 DAYS til I get back home! I'm SO excited, but also a little stressed coz of all the homework I have to do before then. Sigh. Don't know if I've had a more stressful 2 weeks.

1. Do homework.
2. Take finals.
3. Pack room up.

It's easier typed than done.

Other things I've been doing include, face exercises! I know that sounds ridiculous, but here's how it started. Being almost 21, I was starting to believe I'd never get old. HAHAHA. How stupid does that sound? But I guess it's true, people my age think they'll never age, or never die. Truth is, I've been looking into the mirror lately, and I have freakin' parentheses on. My. Face! I was so shocked, AND upset. I kind of obsessed about it for days, until I looked it up online and founddd FACE EXERCISES! Click here for the site I found. I did some of them and it definitely works. So I thought I'd share it with all my peers of the same age range (or younger), so you'd know what to do when this hits you like it did me. xD

On another note... I might change my status thingy to twitter instead, coz I think I'm more... careful, I want to say, with my words there. But whatever, we'll see. Merry Easter everybody. Hope you're eating chocolate bunnies and going to church because I'm currently doing neither. Have the good life, cheers.

paved paradise

Happy Earth Day people!

Here's just a friendly reminder to clean up your trash, reuse or recycle plastic bags, and walk more often instead of driving to the store. :)

Oh, on another note, I know I said I'd do something about my nose piercing, but there are pictures of the process on my sister's blog, so go ahead and check them out if you like.

Oh so happy and complete

Sometimes, I pretend my makeup mirror is one of those old-school microphones and I sing into it. I don't care if you think I'm weird. I like the fact that it makes my voice bounce back. :)

My boyfriend made me realize that I sing a lot of depressing songs. Okay well, maybe not depressing, but more moody and sad than happy and in love. Hahaha. And I agree, I definitely do. I might attribute that to the fact that I think those songs are harder to sing. Or maybe easier. It's easier to be sad than happy. I think anyone can agree on that. Also, I think those songs require a lot of emotion put into one's voice, face expression, and even presence. How crazy hard does singing sound? Lol.

BUT, I have composed a tiny little list so far of happy, love songs that I might sing.

Colbie Caillat - Bubbly

Colbie Caillat - Realize

Colbie Caillat - The Little Things

Auburn - Perfect Two

You realize there is a pattern here. Oh, and just so y'all know, it was my friend Lukas Perez who first had me and my sister listen to the fourth song, before she posted it up on facebook and someone else took credit. Typical human nature.

I'm a little upset coz all the songs I can sing are usually just the lower, breathy ones. LOL. And no, that is not me trying to be sexy or something. My voice is just low - like almost tenor low I think. And that kinda sucks coz all the artists these days have like freaking high voices. I mean, not as high as Mandy Moore's but take Katy Perry for instance. I can't even sing her songs. If I ever sing along (and you may catch me doing this) I just sing a PART. So sad. Where'd all the lower-voiced artists' go?

So clean!

I'm a little proud of myself today. :) My sister gave me the initiative to wash my bedsheets, since, y'know, it's only 3 more weeks to go before I go home to Malaysia!

So last night before I went to bed I made a list of chores. (Bear with me here, this is gonna sound pretty meticulously boring but then again, you are reading this, and this is my blog, so) And the moment I woke up, I stood on my 3-ft high off the ground bed and took off my bedsheet, my pillowcases, and the duvet cover. Then I sorted my laundry and did them all. ^^

And while the laundry was getting done, I went through 7 Real Simple Magazines, listed the interesting (to me) stuff inside, and decided which ones I'm gonna bring home. :) I'm really hoping my mom loves them. We're planning to Spring clean the whole house and God knows that is gonna be a pretty impressive feat. Just to even attempt doing it, I'm just saying. But those magazines are gonna give her so much stuff to be preoccupied with. :)

After my laundry was doneee (eeeee so happy), I put everything back on, folded my clothes and put them away, organized my current luggage bags, and vacuumed a little. Sigh. I still have some more stuff to do, but I'm just glad I got through all of it so far.

How are you guys' days doing? I hope it was just as progressive as mine, if not more. :)

Excited, excited!

Hello again! :D

Remember when I told you that my sister and I were waiting for something in the mail? EyesLipsFace. My sister and I got $25 worth of items and the site threw in free shipping. I think, as of now, if you buy $25 worth you get 10/$1 items for free. :( Wish we had that deal. But I've been wanting most of these things for awhile now. Do you know that it is a mindwreck just to find an eyepencil sharpener over here? I am so glad I've finally got two. Plus, I've also really wanted a eco-friendly brush set since I saw the one in Walmart under ecotools. The kabuki brush is a personal bonus for me; I LOVE those things. The primer's also something I've been meaning to buy because I use eyeshadow rather frequently, and (to me) the right way to use it would actually be: applying it over a primer. The lipstick was just a bonus.

And finally, here's a pic of me using all those things! Well not at the same time I mean. It's not like I have eight hands or something.

Okay so maybe I should've just said, here's a result. My sister and I were so excited we opened up the package right in the SUB and then ran back (after lunch) to try all of it on. xD This is only my part of the $25 just so you know. You're just gonna have to wait and see if Ashleigh posts pictures of hers up, sorry. And that's about it for today. :)

Without any doubt

I decided I should do more reality posts than thought posts. :) I mean, whenever I write something that has to do with an idea, I feel as though I'm writing an article or something. xD Plus, I know I read blogs myself to find out what people have been up to. So that's what I'm gonna do (and stick to hopefully).

Let's start with today! I had a Art History test this morning, and I gotta say, I think I have a knack for it. It must be all those visits to the museums. I find it really easy. =/ And super interesting. Did you know that there are three different kinds of columns? And that the Greeks were perfectionists so their sculptures were never of actual people? Fascinating things, I tell you.

After that class, we had chapel as usual, and once that was done I almost ran to the post office. xD That's because (obviously) I'm expecting something in the mail! And I so can't wait for it to arrive, I'm checking my mailbox everyday. Sadly, it hasn't come yet. =( I really do hope it does soon. My sister said we might make a v-log on it, showcasing every piece. We might, or we mightn't. At any rate you should check out her blog.

Currently, there's this thing called the Scholar's Colloquium that we're having at LCU, and it's just basically presentation after presentation of students' works. Anyone can join I think. And because of this huge convention-like thing, a lot of classes are canceled. ;) Yes, you heard that right. I'm pretty psyched about it. But I have to actually go to the convention so I can write a paper about it. =/ That I'm not so happy about; but it's work.

Then I got to talk to my bee. ^^ I know what you're thinking: what time was that??? I'm just gonna say he sleeps late. :D We've been so excited for me to go back home, we're counting down the days. As a matter of fact, if you would like to know the exact time left til I arrive in KL, just hop over (pun intended, it's gonna be easter soon!) to my sister's blog and you'll see a countdown timer right smack at the top of the page. :)

I'm so glad I'm getting to blog again. There'll definitely be more to come soon. Tune in for my mailbox surprise and pictures of my nose piercing! Bye!

Where is the axe?

I truly should have written this a long time ago, because I want it to guilt me into doing the right thing.

I've been hating on so many people it's crazy. I feel like I'm crazy. And I never used to be so hateful. I didn't even realize it, until I thought to myself, what exactly am I hating all these people for? Plus I read an important quote saying something to the effect that whatever a person hates in another, is because they hate that very characteristic that they have in themselves. And I've come to realize that it is very true.

I mean, it's the same concept with the splinter and the plank except your problem might not necessarily be as big. =/ But it definitely goes back to judging people. Judge not or you will be judged.

I've been trying to slowly let go of it all, just so you know. Oh and also, I wanted to say something to all those friends I used to be so close to. I am terribly sorry that I wasn't a better friend, and that I stopped talking to you after awhile. Whatever I did to stifle our relationship was a mistake. There is not a year that goes by without me thinking of you, and how we used to be so much closer. I just want you to know that if there's anything at all, whether you're in trouble and there's no one else or you just need to borrow something you remember I once had, don't hesitate to ask. Our old friendship is not long forgotten in my mind. :)

Introduction

Hello! You may be thinking right now, What the hell am I doing here? What is this? Is this still Megan?

And the answers are: I have no idea. It's a blog. And yes, it is me. :)
I'm just trying out the new temp designer for a bit. Might probably revert back to my simplistic one, because I just have too many things on it that I like.

Also, all the previous posts are gone - as you can see. Hopefully you'll come to enjoy reading my newer posts, instead of looking back at the older ones.

I suppose I should explain the reason for my hiatus. People were getting too in my face, I think. So I stopped blogging. And I went over to tumblr. But that's a whole other story, which I will elaborate on in a bit. But I'm here now, I am not going to care about people getting to me. I have to admit, I am a people pleaser and a Christian, but I am also entirely human. Keep that in mind. Here's the disclaimer part:

If I happen to say anything that might concern you (like I literally mention your name), and offend you, here are my apologies in advance. I am a woman. A very temperamental, emotional woman, who merely finds solace in writing her thoughts and feelings to the digital public, whether they may be accurate and ethical or not.

Okay. Now I'm gonna go fiddle with the temp.
